Techmate Handhelds approached S3 Group with a simple brief - to redevelop their existing online store that could genuinely drive sales in an informative and pleasurable experience.
Having signed up to an off-the-shelf shopping cart software for a considerable time, Techmate Handhelds realised a deficiency in the software for their online business. There were restrictions in website functionality, as well as a prominent lack of flexibility in interface customization and design.
Despite limitations imposed on them, they had experienced success with online business and understand the potential of the Internet as a practical distribution channel for their products. Their aim was to extend their online services and offer greater functional flexibility for their customers.
In conjunction with the website redevelopment, Techmate Handhelds seek to incorporate a rebranding strategy that would attach a dynamic, vibrant image to their business. The task to refurbish Techmate's site was by no means a simple task. Having previously worked with shopping cart software, they have had a minimum standard of expectation in mind with regard to functions and aesthetics.
Prior to any website development, S3 Group decided that it was imperative to implement a successful rebranding strategy from which corporate collateral and online material would emanate. Commencing with logo design, S3 Group collaborated with Techmate Handhelds in the development of a range of concepts for the new brand.
S3 Group reconstructed an online store that focused on aesthetic appeal and alignment with brand image. Built upon S3 Group's Content Management System, the stores boasts ability to add unlimited categories and custom pages, news, products and brands. Through a centralized administrative interface, Techmate Handhelds is enabled to update all online content in-house - from custom delivery cost calculation to delivery zone settings; from order management to product updates.
The online store also directly implements the St George Bank Internet Payment Gateway to ensure a secure payment transaction for customers. The store now accepts a greater range of credit card including American Express and Diners card, which far exceeds the functions offered by their previous software. The transfer from shopping cart software to custom-design solution proves to be effective and compelling. Mark Plummer, director of Techmate Handhelds, describes the online store as a work that exceeded their initial expectations.
S3 Group continues to advance and grow Techmate Handhelds’ business, providing them with ongoing creative services including business card and compliment slip design, all incorporating into the rejuvenated branding strategy.
