Building a management system for a company the size of Fujitsu was no easy task. Corporate style guidelines, over hundreds of products and accessories, reports and statistics, order management and payment gateway integration were just some of the functions S3 Group had to tackle when designing the solution. Add to that workflow management, multiple country deployment and tight project deadline, and the project scope instantly amplifies.
S3 Group developed a comprehensive online store that encapsulated layers of system complexity in an intuitive, consistent interface. Customers are enabled to intuitively add/remove and modify the items in their shopping cart. Delivery costs were calculated dynamically by the system based on product weight from the customer's shopping cart and geographic location. A simple three-step secure checkout process was then implemented under the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to protect customers and prevent losing potential sales.
All of the online content was to be managed through one centralised interface to facilitate for in-house maintenance. S3 Group combined the existing Content Management System with a product management system as an extension to manage inventory for the Fujitsu PC Australia Online Store. Fujitsu PC Australia's staff could easily add any number of product categories, series, models and part numbers to both the Australian and New Zealand websites, as well as the online store. Content updates such as attaching pictures, full descriptions and product specifications, were all accomplished efficiently via S3 Group's comprehensive WYSIWYG editor.
On top of all this, staff could process online orders via an order processing and archiving system, as part of the central content management system.
