Client Overview
Fujitsu PC (Asia) Pte Ltd is the Asian Regional Headquarters for the PC Business of Fujitsu Limited, Japan. Coupled with their traditional channels of resellers, Fujitsu seeks to expand their sales into the online realm.
Objective
S3 Group was contracted to redevelop Fujitsu PC Australia's current content management system, targeted for its existing information website (www.lifebook.com.au). With a desire to expand into the online market, they also intended to integrate a cost-effective eCommerce system through which to directly sell their PC products online to a growing visitor base.
The Solution

Building a management system for a company the size of Fujitsu was no easy task. Corporate style guidelines, over hundreds of products and accessories, reports and statistics, order management and payment gateway integration were just some of the functions S3 Group had to tackle when designing the solution. Add to that workflow management, multiple country deployment and tight project deadline, and the project scope instantly amplifies.

S3 Group developed a comprehensive online store that encapsulated layers of system complexity in an intuitive, consistent interface. Customers are enabled to intuitively add/remove and modify the items in their shopping cart. Delivery costs were calculated dynamically by the system based on product weight from the customer's shopping cart and geographic location. A simple three-step secure checkout process was then implemented under the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to protect customers and prevent losing potential sales.

All of the online content was to be managed through one centralised interface to facilitate for in-house maintenance. S3 Group combined the existing Content Management System with a product management system as an extension to manage inventory for the Fujitsu PC Australia Online Store. Fujitsu PC Australia's staff could easily add any number of product categories, series, models and part numbers to both the Australian and New Zealand websites, as well as the online store. Content updates such as attaching pictures, full descriptions and product specifications, were all accomplished efficiently via S3 Group's comprehensive WYSIWYG editor.

On top of all this, staff could process online orders via an order processing and archiving system, as part of the central content management system.
The Result
It had just been two months after initial contract, and the project had already undergone an amazing series of phases - from concept, design, implementation, through to testing. Within a few days of fine tuning and refinement, the website was sailing and sales were booming. It had been satisfying enough for Fujitsu to watch the sales statistics rise daily - to see an online idea successfully converted into reality. S3 Group's commitment to the project had warranted a seamless integration of systems coupled with user-friendly tools and aesthetics.
